Tropical storm Bret is expected to bring heavy rain and winds of around 70 mph across the eastern Caribbean islands as the 2023 Atlantic hurricane season gets under way. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has predicted there will be up to 17 named storms and nine hurricanes this season.
