Former UConn Soccer alum Ryan Brown, CHFC RICP MBA was our guest on Husky Talk. A brilliant man who is a dynamic, natural athlete, was part of the 2000 Men's Soccer National Championship Team. Ryan was born in Louisiana and started playing soccer at 5 years old. His family moved to Texas and he became a star player in high school. His club and high school teams both lost in the regional finals, just missing out on a trip to the championship weekend for each competition. Ryan was the captain of both sides.
Being from Houston, his visit to UConn was different for him because it was a bitter coldness he never experienced. Ryan reme
mbers being in the press box with the other recruits as his coach promised that UConn would win a championship during their time there; choosing the Huskies was a no-brainer.
Ryan was part of an incredible UConn squad that made the final four in both 1999 and 2000. Losing in 1999 with an arguably more talented team, they rebounded and brought home the National Championship in 2000.
Ryan spent many years working in corporate America, which was a grind and he was tired of it. He spent time working in London, and now is running his own financial planning practice in Minnesota, ARA Wealth Strategies. He is married with three kids and runs a successful business. After finally finding his calling, Ryan put it all together with a strong work ethic.
