Dr. Carly McLaughlin is a lecturer and post-doctoral researcher in Anglophone Literary and Cultural Studies at the University of Potsdam in Germany. For her BA, she studied French and German at the University of Oxford and went on to do a Ph.D. in German Studies at Queen Mary, University of London. Since 2008 she has taught Anglophone literary and cultural studies at universities in Sweden and Germany. In Sweden, she had her first experience of e-teaching and taught BA and MA courses in literature and cultural theory to students doing online degrees. In 2013, she joined the Department of English and American Studies at the University of Potsdam, where she teaches in cultural and postcolonial studies. She has recently worked on developing digital teaching materials for online courses in literary studies and cultural studies, and since April 2020, like all her colleagues, has moved her teaching online as the Covid-19 pandemic continues to disrupt on-site teaching.
