The subscription model for e-commerce boomed during the Covid-19 pandemic when nearly every business that had significant growth was focused on digital service offerings.

This included companies like Amazon, Dollar Shave Club, Netflix, and Hello Fresh, whose business models depend on capturing recurring and predictable revenues from its customers.  The subscription model has made much of that possible.
