Hymn #26 Truth Hits Everybody

Listen Later

What happens when truth becomes whatever you feel it is, and disagreeing with someone’s reality is suddenly oppressive? From the Inquisition to postmodern culture wars, Western society has swung from God-centered, objective truth to ‘my truth is law.’’ In this episode, we dive into Francis Schaeffer’s 1970s warning that ditching reality for feelings would make life weird (understatement), why atheistic scientists often have more in common with biblical Christians than postmodern social constructivists (and why podcasters like Joe Rogan are giving those thinkers more and more of a platform), and how The Police got it right: truth hits everybody. The lyrics of the hymn will be filled with thought of identity, the chaos created by the collection of individual truths, and why silencing someone because you don’t like their facts is basically medieval inquisitor cosplay—without the hooded robes but armed with bhashtags. So slide on down the digital pew as we think through some last thoughts in our series on  Presuppositional Apologetics.
