Hymns and Revelations, vol. 1 - The Reverend - IH27
The Reverend's latest set is best understood as a volume of musical work; a streaming pulp fiction of audio. It is large enough that we have split it in two sets. Instead of paying attention to a single genre, the songs are stitched together across decades; ambience, balearic, downgroove, and acapellas. Using a colorful and artful canvas the atmospheres draw out emotions and influences which play like a history lesson in one DJs ever-expanding mind and ear. Most collectors and DJs alike will not have the selection found here, but everyone will wish they owned more releases like these.
