From Matthew 23:1-36. In this passage, Jesus instructs His listeners (the people of Jerusalem), to not follow their leaders because they are hypocrites and the woe of God rests upon them. And He is issuing this warning to lovingly guide His people toward Himself by offering a clear rebuke of the religious leaders in Jerusalem on the week of Jesus’ crucifixion.
