“I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.”

John 15:15

3 Things about God Speaking to Us

1: God doesn’t speak to robots (Genesis 18:17-33)

When the LORD had finished speaking with Abraham,

He left, and Abraham returned home. Genesis 18:33

2: God does speak to people

“I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come. John 16:12-13

3: God speaks to friends

“The LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend.” Exodus 33:11a

“And one will say to Him, ‘What are these wounds between your arms?’ Then He will say, ‘Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.’ Zechariah 13:6 NASV

“Do what you came for, friend.” Matthew 26:50b

Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. John 15:13
