Romans 15:7 “Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.”
The enemy will use traumatic experiences to develop strongholds in our life.
What may be a traumatic experience to one person may not be to another.
What creates a traumatic experience in our life, that can develop into a stronghold, is how we respond to that experience.
How I respond can be contributed to many reasons, my age, gender, understanding of what happened, and past experiences.
When we have a traumatic experience that produces the feeling of rejection, that can be a very painful experience and one that is not easy to forget.
Rejection can produce mistrust, suspicion, the inability to bond with others, feelings of inadequacy and depression. The enemy will use these lies to build strongholds in your life.
This is why it is so important to know you have been accepted by God in Christ. Not that you feel accepted all the time, but that you know you are accepted.
What changes the power these strongholds have on us is the truth of the gospel, it sets us free. It does change what has happed in the past, but the truth allows us to walk in the spirit so we won’t be brought down or in bondage to the flesh.
