Far too often we let others define what beauty is to us and when that beauty is anchored to the physical world, it leaves out a crucial component of what beauty is. In an attempt to quantify our value, beauty is used as currency. Those who are born with the physical attributes accepted as commercially beautiful, are in a sense rich, while the ones not born so fortunate, are relegated to the shadows either ignored or ridiculed. This is a terribly incomplete assessment of what beauty really is and it will never serve those labeled as beautiful by society or those whom society as told us are not.
