Daily Sober Affirmations

I Am in Control of My Choices

Listen Later

Welcome to Daily Sober Affirmations, your daily dose of sober strength and inspiration. I'm your host, Sam, and I'm here to guide you towards a brighter, healthier, and more fulfilling life, one day at a time.
One of the most insidious aspects of addiction is the feeling of being out of control. It's like you're being driven by forces outside of yourself, pulled in directions you don't want to go.
Cravings become overwhelming. Impulses take over. And it feels like you're no longer the master of your own destiny.
It's easy to feel powerless... to believe that you're simply at the mercy of your addiction. But that's a lie.
You have more power than you realize.
It may not always feel that way, but you have the ability to choose your actions, to resist temptation, and to reclaim control of your life.
It starts with awareness. Pay attention to your thoughts, your feelings, and your triggers. Understand what situations, people, or emotions tend to lead you down the wrong path.
And then, make a conscious choice to break the cycle. Take a deep breath. Reach out to a friend. Practice a healthy coping mechanism.
You are not a victim. You are a warrior. You are capable of taking control of your choices and creating a life that is aligned with your values.
So let's solidify this intention with these affirmations...

I am in control of my choices.

I have the power... to make decisions... that support my sobriety... and well-being.
I am the author... of my own story.

I choose to be mindful... of my thoughts... feelings... and actions.
I am aware... of my triggers... and I take steps... to avoid them.
I am creating... a life... that is aligned... with my values.

I am the master... of my own destiny.
I am responsible... for my own happiness... and success.
I choose to live... a life of purpose... meaning... and fulfillment.

Take this affirmation with you today. Repeat it throughout your day as a reminder of your strength and commitment. Share this episode with someone who needs it. Together, we can support each other on this journey.
