Samuel was gifted to God, he was set aside for His

service, he served the Lord, dressed in garments like that

of a priest, Samuel grew up in the presence of God and

grew in favor with God and with the people and slept in theTabernacle near the Ark of the Lord BUT when God called his name he was unable to recognize it because “Samuel did not YET KNOW the LORD”.
