God fights for you, surrounds you, protects you. God reveals himself to David in his experiences as a shepherd boy and in worship, on the hills and then in battle.

How does this revelation of who God is effect David’s identity? He becomes a courageous warrior. Note how David leads his military crusades: he knows God as the commander of the army and he is always looking for where God is in the battle- he is looking to receive instructions about how to lead or fight from the captain on the armies of heaven.

As you worship and your grow in your relationship with God, who is God revealing himself to you as?  Instead of just hearing the words: God is my shepherd or God is my fortress or refuge, allow them to be revelation.

If God is your fortress, who are you? If God is King, who are you? If God is Father, who are you?
