Jesus said, I am the true vine (John 15:1). Jesus made this declaration as he was preparing his disciples for his departure from this earth. Jesus was about to go to the cross. His disciples were tired and worried. They needed a boost. This boost is also meant for us today.

Jesus is still calling people to himself to be connected to him in way that is vital. Vital means life. Without Jesus there is no life, no vitality. Notice that Jesus declared that he is the TRUE vine. There are a whole lot of false vines out there. As human beings we can find ourselves attached to the wrong vine. That is, we may not be connected to the vital (life) source that is Jesus Christ. All need to be vitally attached to the True Vine that is Jesus Christ.
