I Believe in God…that’s all that matters
Is believing in God all that matters? Is that the ticket you need to go to heaven?
James 2:19 “You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder.”
If the demons believe but aren’t saved and certainly aren’t going to heaven, then there must be more to believing than just acknowledging God is God.
WHAT'S IT MEAN "TO BELIEVE"?
Biblically, to believe means to cling to, adhere to, to rely upon, trust in, commit to, surrender to.
• It’s more than a mental ascent or acknowledgement that God exists.
• It’s more than a head belief… It’s a surrender to, a relying on, an abandonment to, a clinging to the God of the Bible.
WHO DO YOU BELIEVE GOD TO BE? The God of the Bible is One God manifested in 3 distinct personalities.
• God the Father
• God the Son
• God the Holy Spirit
Do you believe in that God?
Genesis 1:27 “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”
Do you believe in that God?
John 3:16, “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him would not perish but have eternal life.”
2 Peter 3:9, “he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
Luke 13:3, “unless you repent, you will likewise perish.” • Do you believe in that God? The God of the Bible tells us that SALVATION is exclusively through Christ.
John 14:6, “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
Titus 3:5 “Not by works of righteousness which we have done but according to His mercy He saved us, by washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost;”
• Do you believe in that God?
God doesn't want you to wonder if you're saved. 1 John 5:13 says that He wrote those things so you may, "know that you have eternal life."
