I know, I also don't understand how parents can do such things.  

I want you to know that you CAN forgive, but you don't have to welcome them back into your life.  You deserve to move forward away from your past to create your own life.  

The only way to move forward is to forgive, this will allow you to let go of anyone you are holding on to for the purpose of hating them.
