For years, I completely misread a 3,000-year-old story about a father and his disappointing son.

Turns out, I was the one who needed the lesson. Isaac loved Esau—even though Esau made terrible decisions, married the wrong people, and seemed to embody everything opposite to his family's values. Why? Because Isaac had witnessed the cost of conditional love in his own family. This hit me hard: How often do I practice conditional love disguised as "accountability"?
