Aloha! My name is Dawn and I live in the Amazonian rainforest.

Growing up, I lived in the jungle with my amazing nature loving dad. We didn't really have a house, we lived in makeshift tents near a local tribe that dad was filming for one of his numerous award winning documentaries. My mom was a famous talk show host in the United States and she only visited dad and I once or twice a year.

When I was 13 years old, dad was attacked by a caiman and passed away. A few weeks later, mom told me that we'd be moving to the United States.

I tearfully said goodbye to my best friend Hiro, as mom waited impatiently.

"Will I ever see you again?"

"I'll come back, I promise."

We quickly did our secret handshake then I turned and left.

From the moment we got off the 

plane, I felt like an alien. People pointed and stared at me.

"Mom, why are they staring?"

"Because you're dressed like a caveman. Why don't you ever wear the clothes I buy for you?"
