We were all watching a baseball game one evening—snacks, commentary, the whole family dialed in—when my oldest, 10 years old at the time, suddenly said: “I’m not going for the Yankees.” I asked him why. His response? “Because I don’t know what a Yankee is… but I have red socks at home.”
It was one of those perfectly-timed, unintentionally profound moments only a kid can deliver. We laughed, of course—but I’ve carried it with me ever since.
Because sometimes, that’s how we live our faith too. We don’t know everything. We don’t understand all the rules. But we stand on what we do know—what feels like home, what’s already been given to us.
🧦 This episode is a lighthearted look at childhood logic and a heartfelt reminder that sometimes, red socks and a little faith are more than enough.
