English is the first language in Singapore (新加坡), but Singaporeans mostly speak Singlish. Singlish is a combination of Chinese, English, some Malay and Hokkien words.   Learning Singlish can be quite difficult because Singaporeans talk very fast. There are a lot of words that they add onto the end like “lah, lor, meh, ah”.
