Reading 1 Samuel 3:4–5 gave me an understanding that everyone has trauma… even Samuel.
This story showed me how to let things be exactly what they are in the moments they are presented.
Trauma sucks… really sucks. But when it happens, we have choices.
We can choose to heal and grow from it…
or we can carry it with us and let the trauma live our life for us.
Somehow, through a little boy hearing his name called in the middle of the night, Samuel showed me how to let the past be the past.
And finally…
when God called my name…
I was able to answer:
“Here I am.”
