I drove through snowy roads near Mount Fuji to find a hidden waterfall at Shiraito Falls—and it was unreal.

This Japan travel podcast takes you deep into the Mount Fuji region to explore Shiraito Falls, one of the most beautiful and underrated waterfalls in Japan. With snow on the ground, quiet forest trails, and almost no crowds, this turned into one of my favorite Mount Fuji days.

I compare two different Shiraito Falls locations (yes, there are two with the same name), hike the full loop trail, and hunt for the perfect spot where Mount Fuji and a waterfall appear in the same frame. Along the way, you’ll see scenic winter driving, peaceful forest paths, and multiple waterfall viewpoints.

After leaving Shiraito Falls, the adventure doesn’t stop. I navigate a rural Japanese gas station for the first time and end the day with a surprisingly great 7-Eleven dinner in Japan, proving once again why Japanese convenience stores are in a league of their own.
