Norman Gimbel was one of the preeminent lyricists of our generation. His work included the words to the iconic “Girl From Ipanema”, “Killing Me Softly”, and “Canadian Sunset”. He also wrote the words to several television shows, notably “Happy Days” and “Laverne and Shirley”. Nancy Roman, one of the premier female American astronomers, was known as the “Mother of Hubble” for her efforts to advance the interstellar telescope. Lawrence Roberts was an American engineer who was instrumental in the development of the Internet.
