I hurried up and stuffed the homework I was doing into my bag and ran out the door with a bagel in my mouth. I was late to pick up Jolene. I put on my helmet and hopped on my bike, zooming off the driveway and towards her house. I saw her through the window, waiting for me, and then she ran outside and climbed on my motorbike, putting on the spare helmet.

“You’re late” She said, slapping me on the shoulder.

“Really? Hadn’t noticed” I replied sarcastically. She muttered something about me always being late with absolutely everything, but I accelerated the bike to get her to shut up.
