Regardless of what the title suggests, I have always been an Elvis fan.  In 1956, the first year of Elvis's career as a recording artist and movie star, fans joined fan clubs to celebrate the artist's talent.  Not all were fans, all across the world, people joined "I Hate Elvis" clubs.
