It may sound scary, but more than anything, it’s interesting to feel as though I was dreaming for so many years, and now I find myself awake. Or at least, the most awake I’ve ever been. Who knows what the future holds? There are so many layers one can peel away. 

But in the meantime, as isolating as this experience can feel, I’m sure people everywhere can relate to awakening from a dream, even those who never got sober after abusing substances because so much of the world is blinking their eyes open at this very moment.
