Fun story:

For the guitars in this song, I decided to try and capture them while I was still not super solid with the fingerpicking, letting all the accidental extra notes and strings ring out as they happened. I did 4 full takes like this in a row, without listening to any of the previous takes while recording the new take. It ended up coming out as this sort of blurry sort of sloppy amalgam of 4 guitars all sort of playing together and sort of not, weaving in and out of being in time with each other. Combined with all the happy accidental extra notes, I thought it created a cool effect and kept it as you hear it here. I did something similar with recording the vocals as well, and all together, it's kind of like hearing a bunch of different takes of the song all played at once, but also somehow appropriately hazy, obscured, and unclear for the feeling of it too. At least, that's how I think of it :)
