Nothing earthly is really unconditional. Everything is quid pro quo. Tit for tat. You cover me, I'll cover you. You do me wrong, I'll come back at you even stronger. We struggle with this because we're all broken. None of us has it all together. The Good News is that unconditional love does indeed exist and that Jesus accepts us as we are. Broken, struggling and full of questions - He loves us. He initiates the love and He gives it freely. We need not apply for it because we already have it!
