I thought success would pull me out of grief.
Instead, I made over $100,000 in the first few months of the year, gained 50,000 followers… and still found myself stuck in a rut.
In this episode, I share the very real experience of signing up for the Huntly Half Marathon during one of the hardest seasons of my life, thinking I could run my way through grief, burnout, and disconnection from myself.
Spoiler alert:
I did not magically become a runner.
I barely trained.
I nearly pulled out.
I downgraded from the half marathon to the 10km.
And honestly? That decision taught me more than forcing myself through 21km ever would have.
This episode is about:
• rebuilding trust with yourself
• what happens when achievement stops fixing your pain
• grief, burnout, and losing motivation
• why environment matters so much for healing
• learning to move forward without destroying yourself
• the small moments that reminded me I can still do hard things
I also share the powerful moments from the event that shifted something in me, including the little girl repeating affirmations while she ran and the people around me who reminded me that everyone is carrying something unseen.
If you’ve been feeling stuck, exhausted, disconnected from yourself, or like you’ve lost your spark a bit lately, this kōrero is for you.
You do not need to be fully healed to move forward.
