“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should
be called children of God! And that is what we are!” 1John 3:1a
“…let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24-25
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up,
just as in fact you are doing. 1Thessalonians 5:11
“The words of the reckless pierce like swords,
but the tongue of the wise brings healing.” Proverbs 12:18
5 Reasons to be an Encourager
1: Because God says so
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
Ephesians 4:29
2: Because God doesn’t make junk
“I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”
Psalm 139:14a
3. Because people need encouragement
4: Because it brings out the best in people
“…there was Joseph, the one the apostles nicknamed Barnabas
(which means “Son of Encouragement). Acts 4:36
