Room to Grow: 4 Areas

 Jesus grew in WISDOM: a proper application of knowledge

 Jesus grew in STATURE: to grow up

 Jesus grew in FAVOR WITH GOD: to grow Spiritually

 Jesus grew in FAVOR WITH MAN: to grow Socially

3 Growth Principles

1: It’s what you learn after you know it all that counts

2: Unless you try to do something beyond what you’ve already mastered,

you will cease to grow

3: The highest reward for our hard work isn’t what we get from it,

but what we become by it

Hebrews 5:11-12: “We have much to say about this, but it is hard to make it clear to you because you no longer try to understand. 12 In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers…”

3 Levels of Spiritual Growth

LEVEL 1: Spoon Fed

Hebrews 5:12b-13: “…you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s Word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! 13Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness.”

LEVEL 2: Feed ourselves

Hebrews 5:14-6:1: “But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil. 1Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity…”

LEVEL 3: Feed Others

Hebrews 5:12b: “In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers…”

“The things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.” 2Timothy 2:2
