The crowd behind me was cheering loudly as we watched our school’s football team score again, putting us in the lead. I was busy cheering and chanting encouragement with my fellow cheerleaders when I felt someone touch my elbow. I turned around and saw Derek, one of the most popular guys at school. He wasn't a football player, he was just rich and brilliant. We chatted for a while, until he asked me out on a date. I said yes, because he was very cute and charming. I laughed when I saw him go back to his friends and get teased.
