Shelia is from New York and moved to Portland, Oregon in her mid-20's. She was unsure of her sexual orientation, maybe she was bi-sexual or maybe she was a lesbian? When she landed in Portland, she started dating and eventually found herself in a legal domestic partnership with "Bug". 

As much as they loved each other, they weren't able to overcome some unhealthy dynamics. Her partner was an alcoholic and frequent marijuana user. Shelia was arrested with the fear of abandonment and eventually they couldn't find themselves on the same page.
