The goal is to purchase at least 100 new coats for battered women and children. The purpose behind this fundraiser is to help her with ongoing expenses at her daycare center that she was prepared to open before having to start chemotherapy and radiation. Since her diagnosis came unexpectedly it put her in a unexpected place in her finances in preparation for her new business venture. She has spent well over $12,000 on the facility in maintenance and repairs. If she does not get any financial help while recovering from the surgery she recently had then she could lose all of her investments thus far.
