This episode is the last in our miniseries on Jia Tolentino’s 2019 collection of essays “Trick Mirror: Reflections on Self-Delusion.” Here it is: the last essay from the book that we’re diving into, “I Thee Dread.” This is going to be more personal compared to the other episodes in the miniseries. I think it’s because the topic of the essay—weddings and marriage—hits close home to me. Reading the essay was a journey in unexpected introspection.
