Five weeks of fighting imported red fire ants in my garden did more than test my patience. It exposed a habit I didn’t want to admit: I’ll hustle, research, push, and try to control the outcome… and only then think to pray.

I’m Theresa Marie, and today’s Earth School lesson starts in middle Tennessee with a strawberry patch, cardboard mulch, wood chips, and a stubborn two-foot ant mound right in the center of my plans. I walk through the natural remedies, the reluctant chemical attempt, and the emotional build from “please relocate” to full-on frustration. Then a quiet question cuts through everything: “Did you ever think to ask me to help you?” That moment turns pest control into a faith reset, reminding us what it looks like to stop making God our last resort.
