In this lesson, I will introduce you how to describe "I want someone to do something" using the te-form of a verb plus the adjective ほしい.


たなかさん に これ を たべてほしいです。(affirmative sentence)

I want Ms. Tanaka to eat this.

たなかさん に これ を たべてほしくないです。(negative sentence)

たなかさん に これ を たべないでほしいです。(negative sentence)


すずきさん に きてほしいです。(affirmative sentence)

I want Mr. Suzuki to come.

すずきさん に きてほしくないです。(negative sentence)

すずきさん に こないでほしいです。(negative sentence)


かとうさん に しずかにしてほしいです。(affirmative sentence)

I want Mr. Kato to be quiet.
