You are in your current role for a while. You master what is needed and you know you are good in what you do. You are meeting your performance goals, maybe even exceeding them. You might feel happy about that, but often we want recognition and validation of our skills and contributions to the organization. A promotion would certainly do that.
We might also want a promotion, because as we master our role, we have energy for more. We desire more responsibility, the opportunity to take on new challenges, and the potential for increased pay and benefits. Nothing wrong with that.
But you might hear "you are not ready yet". - What does this mean?
