I Wanted to Destroy Something Beautiful! is the story of a man ending a relationship by turning boredom, resentment, and emotional numbness into cruelty. As the argument escalates through broken bowls, sarcasm, tears, and a final departure, the narrator watches himself wound Pia while also despising the part of him that does it. It is a sharp, brutal story about love turning destructive, emotional cowardice, self-disgust, and the terrible relief of leaving after making sure something beautiful has been broken.
