People with disabilities are devalued by society. That’s a fact. And that needs to change, because too many people are getting neglected, exploited and hurt. That’s where the Disability Royal Commission comes in. Since April 2019, the Royal Commission has been investigating reports of violence, neglect, abuse and exploitation of people with disabilities. In just over a year over 1,000 submissions have been made. One of which is Laura Lewis, one of today's guests on The Nasty Woman Club.

On today’s episode she spoke with The Nasty Woman Club host Demi Lynch about her experience reaching out to the Disability Royal Commission. During the chat Demi also spoke with two women that have helped Laura navigate her way through this difficult process. These women are Leigh Elliot from the Micah Projects. And Linda McKey from SUFY - Speaking Up For You.
