In today's Scripture the disciples comment on the magnificence of the temple in Jerusalem. In total that building project lasted around 83 years. Apparently only the best available materials were used. Gold plating everywhere, huge marble slabs, intricate design work. I'd love to have seen what that looked like, don't you? But all that description and detail about the temple in Luke only served to highlight those two minims a widow dropped in the offering box.
