How She Really Does It.

I will not be silent

Listen Later

I've always believed in using my voice, but last week I found myself frozen. I was scared I didn't know enough or that I would say the wrong thing. The reason I was frozen is because I had fear and shame in me.

I want you to know that I see you. I'm listening. And I'm learning what I can do.

I know now that because of my privilege, I could stay quiet. But I had to overcome my own emotions and show up. See my own bias so I could change it. Learn how to be an ally. I will speak up because racial injustices need to stop.

Why? Because Black Lives Matter.

Join me in today's episode as I process the emotions I felt last week of resistance, fear, and shame. I will make mistakes as I learn to use my voice, but I will rise back up to help create change. I invite you to be willing to get uncomfortable and have uncomfortable conversations with me.
