Some Romans may have wondered, "If you're the apostle to the Gentiles, why haven't you visited us yet?"
Paul's answer: 1. "I've always wanted to come to Rome, but God has had other PLANS." (8-10)
Lesson: Learn to say no to the GOOD so you can say yes to God's BEST.
1 Peter 4:10 ESV 10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace:
1 Corinthians 9:16 ESV 16 For if I preach the gospel, that gives me no ground for boasting. For necessity is laid upon me. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!
1 Corinthians 12:7 NKJV 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:
"Obligation to him who died produces obligation to those for whom he died." - Paul Minear
Lesson: Beware of the "ME Gospel." When you became a Christian, you became INDEBTED to others.
