Welcome to IWSWHTM…a podcast and video series about women's health and wellness, barrier-breaking, and self-advocacy, all united by what we wish someone had told us when we were younger.
In this episode, I chat with my soulmate, Vianessa Castanos! Viane, as I call her, is a woman of many talents and an all-around creative person. We’ve lived together, been broke together, and helped each other in every facet of our lives. We’ll discuss Viane’s journey from Los Angeles to Madrid, how and why she started her production company, and her aim to disrupt the entertainment industry. This conversation also tees things up for when she interviews me!
About Vianessa:
Vianessa Castanos has been asking questions for as long as she can remember, starting with her first interview at age six—a recorded conversation with herself in which she revealed that her life goal was to work in television...and to become a baby chicken. While she was too young to understand that transfiguration wasn’t possible, that moment ignited her passion for storytelling, setting her on a winding 20+ year journey through the entertainment industry as a bilingual actress and producer. With acting credits such as 'Edna' on Apple TV's Land of Women, 'Romina' in Netflix's El Caso Asunta, and roles in hit series like American Crime Story: People vs OJ Simpson and The Mindy Project, Vianessa later founded Anacaona Productions, a TV development house based in Madrid, Spain. Today, she continues her work as a presenter and host, exploring topics such as identity, interculturality, pop culture, and the effects of technology on culture and media.
