Severn Cullis-Suzuki founded the Environmental Children’s Organization with friends at 9 years old and at age 12 made a name for herself internationally as “the girl who silenced the world for 6 minutes” where she famously told world leaders at the UN Rio Earth Summit in 1992, If you can’t fix the environment please stop breaking it.

Miss Cullis-Suzuki recently visited Japan on her “Love is the Movement” speaking tour where she was generous enough to give IAFOR’s Eye Magazine an interview.

She discusses how her life has changed since her famous UN Speech. She also calls to action environmentalists to get involved politically and to affect change through leading by good example.
