On January 13th 2012, Ian Donoff was just days into his honeymoon when his life (and that of thousands of others on-board the now infamous Costa Concordia) was put at risk. Having struck a rock near the coast of Isola del Giglio in the Mediterranean, the cruise ship he was holidaying on started tilting... eventually tilting 70 degrees and cutting power from the engines.
His survival story is as inspiring as it is revelatory; the subsequent court case saw that the ship's captain (Francesco Schettino) fled the ship whilst 32 passengers and crew died.
Daisy Maskell sits down with Ian Donoff to hear the story of what happened on that fateful night, and to find out his feelings 10 years later.
