Authoritarianism, Groupthink and an Aversion to the Taste of Boot-leather

Abi Roberts thinks what she thinks. She REALLY thinks what she thinks. In fact, she is just as emphatic and unapologetic about her beliefs as her 'opponents' are about theirs, yet she seems to be an outcast and pariah while they enjoy the impunity of conformity. Is that not an indication that the tolerant, free thinking, and democratic society we have fought to protect for centuries is an illusion? It is an illusion they turn on whenever they want us to feel like there's something worth defending and an illusion they shut down when they want us to roll over and capitulate. Which we always do.
