In this last episode wrapping up our look at Our Church Covenant, we talk about how to leave well. You don't sign the Covenant in blood. In fact, the Covenant anticipates that many people will move away. We won't drop you immediately, but we won't keep you as a member indefinitely. We want to take your hand and put it in the hand of another church as soon as possible. Listen in as we talk more about this process.

Church Discipline?! That sounds so mean and legalistic and formal. But is it? On this episode we delve into the topic of accountability, rebuke, and the ins and outs of church discipline.

We all know that we should pray, but it's hard. We're often prayerless. On this episode Pastors Nathan and Theo go a little deeper into the why, how, and who of intercessory prayer and hopefully encourage you to keep your commitment to pray consistently for the church and its members.

This is a short one, but not because it's less important. When we assemble as the church to do the church's business, we're doing big things! We hope to persuade you to love membership meetings because you're a member and you are invested in the church.

Let's talk about why we give and where the money goes.

Our Church Covenant also covers things we're agreeing to do when we're by ourselves and not with the church. We say we're going to be growing in 'personal spiritual disciplines'. What are those? How do we do them? What's the point? In this episode, Nathan and Theo give an overview and some practical tips to spiritual disciplines.

What does it mean to submit to your elders? Do what old people tell you to do? What are elders? Oh, that means pastors? Wait, aren't pastors all power/money/sex hungry charlatans? Sadly, many are. But could there be good (under)shepherds? What kind of authority do they have in a church? Should I follow them blindly? Should I always treat them with suspicion? These are the kinds of questions we explore in this episode of the IBC Podcast.
