Sa'diyya Shaikh teaches at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. She has an interest in Sufism and its implications

for Islamic feminism and feminist theory. She teaches courses in religion, gender, Islamic mysticism and the psychology

of religion. Her book "Sufi Narratives of Intimacy: Ibn 'Arabi, Gender and Sexuality" is published by the UNC.
