Ibrahim Al-Marashi on Learning Adaptability for a Post Covid-19 World

Listen Later

In this episode, we meet Ibrahim Al-Marashi, who is visiting Professor at the School of Global and Public Affairs of IE University. He is an associate professor at California State University San Marcos. He is a co-author of Iraq’s Armed Forces: An Analytical History (Routledge, 2008), The Modern History of Iraq (Routledge, 2017), and A Concise History of the Middle East (Routledge, 2018). He is best known as the author of an article which was plagiarised by the British government in a 2003 briefing document entitled Iraq: Its Infrastructure of Concealment, Deception and Intimidation (see Dodgy Dossier).

He is interviewed by Aldara Vazquez, a first year IE University student. Her deep interest in languages and International affairs has encouraged her to study International Relations. The way she was raised also sparked in her a particular curiosity for the human essence. Thus, in this episode she wanted to blend these two fields in an attempt to address the latest events related to COVID-19 and how these have affected both our personal and professional lives. We are currently living a challenging situation never experienced before and it is key that we learn how to evolve in the dynamocs of this new world. In 2019, she joined the Student Advisory Board for IE's Center for Health, Well-being & Happiness.
